Mather & Co, in partnership with Aivaf, has helped redevelop the W5 Science Centre in Belfast with a £4.5 million investment. The revamped center now features eight interactive zones designed to engage visitors in fun and educational STEM learning. Mather & Co was responsible for the theatrical theming and graphics, while Aivaf developed innovative, open-ended exhibits. Highlights include the giant 4m Marvellous Machine, the Energize zone, and a Move It zone where visitors can build and race cars to learn about physics.
The exhibits also explore topics like energy, mechanics, and seasonal changes in wildlife, while interactive spaces like The Studio and Making Sense offer creative opportunities for visitors. The project was funded by a Northern Ireland Government grant and aims to inspire future generations in science and discovery. Mather & Co is also working on transforming Inverness Castle into a major new visitor attraction.
